Associate Merchant – Music

Position Overview

As an Associate Merchant – Music, you will shape the future of Walmart’s music category by creating and implementing strategies that enhance customer experiences in stores and online. You’ll lead product management, supplier collaboration, and category strategy while leveraging Walmart’s global scale to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Category Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the music category, including managing budgets and driving profitable growth.
  • Decision-Making: Manage various aspects of the product lifecycle, including pricing, assortment, layouts, budgets, replenishment, supply chain, and modular planning.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with suppliers, vendors, and internal business partners to improve product offerings and supply chain efficiency.
  • Product Development: Work with Product Development and Sourcing teams to create and launch innovative products for Private Brands.
  • Customer Insight: Understand your customers’ needs and preferences while staying ahead of trends to enhance offerings.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, negotiating with third-party suppliers, pricing, site merchandising, planning, or inventory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual Salary Range:

  • $70,000–$130,000 based on experience and qualifications.
  • Eligible for annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
