About the Position
This role supports the Army Reserve Aviation Command as an Aircraft Mechanic, responsible for maintaining and repairing rotary-wing aircraft. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) position for qualified individuals, emphasizing expedited hiring processes for the Department of Defense.

Duties and Responsibilities
As an Aircraft Mechanic, you will:
- Serve as a crew chief/flight engineer on rotary-wing aircraft.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft systems and components.
- Perform complex maintenance, including rigging flight control systems and final adjustments.
- Conduct maintenance operational checks and ensure readiness.
- Use various tools and testing equipment in support of aircraft maintenance.
Conditions of Employment

- Physical Examination: An annual physical is required.
- Security Clearance: Must complete a Personnel Security Investigation.
- Drug Testing: Subject to random testing under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.

- Lautenberg Amendment Compliance: Adherence to the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 is mandatory.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to perform aircraft maintenance independently. Specific qualifications include:
- Screen Out Element: Experience maintaining rotary-wing aircraft, such as replacing hydraulic pumps, lubricating components, or performing other maintenance tasks.
- Physical Requirements: Must lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform activities such as standing, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Working Conditions: Exposure to high-frequency noise, dust, grease, and outdoor weather conditions.
Recruitment Bonus
- Amount: $10,000, paid in two installments: $5,000 upon appointment and $5,000 after one year.
- Eligibility: First-time Federal Government civilian employees or those with a 90-day break in service from previous civilian roles.
- Obligation: A two-year service agreement with the Army Reserve Military Technician Program is required.
