After My Husband Cheated Novel

Husband Cheat Chapter 10

Adrian did not waste time. As soon as he saw me, he asked, “Why haven’t you been answering my calls or replying to my messages?”

I had deliberately ignored any message or call from him. I asked, “Why are you here?”

Adrian finally breathed a little easier and said, “I was worried, Madeline. You didn’t answer my calls or….”

“I’m fine,” I interrupted, my voice devoid of emotion. “You don’t need to worry about me.” Turning away, I return to office to pack my things.

He followed, pleading in the background. “But you’re my wife,” he sputtered. “How can I not care?”

I ignored him. Reaching my desk, I glanced at Tyler who was still typing on the computer. “Doctor Graham, is there anything else I need to do tonight?”

Tyler looked up, a flicker of something crossing his features before he offered a curt, “No, you’re dismissed.”

With a nod, I turned to leave with Adrian still following me. “Madeline, are you still mad? Don’t you miss me?”

I emphasized to him, “Adrian, I’m really not mad. Really.”

“I don’t believe you,” he insisted, still maintaining his attitude.

“Fine, don’t believe me then.” I headed downstairs, but he insisted on pulling me along. To my surprise, he had driven his car over and had even brought a lot of luggage. “Madeline,” he announced, “I rented a place here. I plan to stay with you.”

The news was met with incredulous look on my face. “What about your job?”

“My job?” he echoed, a hint of defensiveness creeping into his voice. “I quit.”

Quit? I could not understand Adrian.

“Adrian,” I began, “this is completely unnecessary….”

He cut me off with a frantic wave of his hand. “Madeline, don’t! Don’t say another word. I know I was wrong, okay?”

“I was truly wrong,” he said, taking my arm. “I’m here to stay with you and I’ll never contact Sophie again. Does that make you happy?”

The naivety of his solution was almost comical. “Whether you contact her or not is irrelevant,” I stated, my voice firm and unwavering. “The real issue lies elsewhere, Adrian.” By now, I realized that the crack in the relationship between Adrian and me was not just because of Sophie.

Sophie was a symptom, not the disease. The disease was the fundamental incompatibility that had plagued our relationship from the start.

“Whether you contact her or not is my business, but you should seriously consider the divorce.” I had no intention of getting into his car.

However, as I turned away, he grabbed my hand. “Madeline, please! Give me another chance.” His pleas were a monotonous drone, a fading echo in the bustling hospital entrance.

I struggled to free my hand, but he grabbed me right back. Not intending to fight in front of the hospital, I finally gave up and went with him.
