Job Overview
Position: Laundry Worker
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 12:00 midnight to 8:30 am
Location: VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, Cleveland, OH
Position Description: Laundry Worker (PD93168A)
Key Duties
- Load and unload linen trucks.
- Fill and deliver exchange carts to wards and designated areas.
- Collect soiled linen and uniforms from chute rooms and other collection points.
- Clean linen chute rooms and sanitize carts.
- Respond to customer requests for additional linens.
- Serve as a backup to the seamstress and manage the Uniform Room, issuing uniforms to employees.
- Answer service office telephone in the absence of the service secretary.
Physical Requirements
- Light to medium physical effort, including standing for long periods, bending, pulling, and pushing carts weighing up to 300 pounds.
- Requires walking, stretching, and frequent handling of linen delivery and return tasks.
Eligibility and Requirements
Conditions of Employment
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Background and suitability investigation required.
- Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- May need to serve a probationary period.

Qualifications
